Larry Dean Segura

New Iberia- Funeral Services will be held for Mr. Larry Dean Segura, age 61, on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 4:00PM at David Funeral Chapel of New Iberia with Pastor Todd Menard and Rev. Ed Downs to serve as the Celebrants with musical accompaniment by Tommy Bell, Nathan Sam, and Johnnie Jones. Musical selections will be Beulah Land, Amazing Grace My Chains are Gone, Anchor Holds, and Go Rest High on the Mountain.

Visitation will begin on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 9:00 AM until 3:45pm.

A native of Avery Island and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Segura passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 2:15 AM at a his residence. Mr. Segura enjoyed the game of golf, fishing, hunting, and cooking. He was skilled in woodworking and woodcrafts. Mr. Segura was a member of Family Life Church. Mr. Segura was a former worship leader at Trinity Baptist Church and enjoyed singing for the Lord. He was a prayer warrior. One whose strong faith will never fade but his beautiful voice will be missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his Wife, Carol Cunningham Segura; Son, Kelly Roy Segura & wife Shannon; Grandson, Dylan Dore; Honorary Daughter, Hannah Duplantis; Brothers, Julius Segura, Jr. & wife Mary, Enol J. Guillot & wife Pal, Ronald Dean Segura; Sister, Judy Ann Landry & husband Robert; Father-in-law, Roy Cunningham; Mother in law, Jeanette Martin Cunningham, three Sisters-in-law, Cheryl Temple & husband Floyd, and Toni Duplantis, all of New Iberia, Lori Lewis of Navarre, FL; and one Brother-in-law, Ernie Cunningham of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Julius Segura, Sr.; Mother, Alice Touchet Segura; Sister-in-law, Giselle Segura, and Brother-in-law, Roy Cunningham, Jr.

Upholding the honor of Pallbearers are Dylan Dore, Johnnie Jones, Alphen Dore, Jason Guillotte, George Stokes, and Calvin Bourque. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jeremy Johnson.

The family would like to thank Nursing Specialties Hospice for their care and compassion. A special thanks to Calvin Bourque for always being there for Mr. Segura.
