Mae "Louise" Bennett Hanchey

Lafayette – Funeral services will be held for Mae “Louise: Bennett Hanchey, 84, on Monday April 4,2016 at 1:00P M in David Funeral Home. Pastor Jeff Cook will be officiating. Visitation will held Sunday April 3, 2016 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and will resume Monday April 4, 2016 from 8:00AM until time of service at 1:00PM. Burial will follow in St. Anne Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Hanchey passed away Wednesday March 30, 2015 at a local hospital. She taught at Youngsville Middle School,then retired from the St. Martin Parish School Board as a Teacher and Supervisor with over 25 years of service.

Survivors include her son Bert “Lowell” Hanchey Jr. of Youngsville; two daughters Penny and Cindy Hanchey both of Youngsville; her grandson Blake and his wife Ashley Hanchey of Youngsville; granddaughter Callie Hanchey of Youngsville; great granddaughters Brooklyn Romero and Dylynn Blaze Hanchey both of Youngsville; one sister Nell Cryer of Merryville La.; and her brother Elmer Bennett of Sulphur La.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bert L. Hanchey Sr.; her parents Eary Elmer and Callie Monk Bennett; her grandson Dustin Sparrow; three brothers Carl, Harold, and LeRoy Bennett; three sisters Leona Hennigan, Myrl Spikes, and Joyce Burge.
