John Trahan

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 9:00AM until the time of the services with a recitation of the rosary at 11:00AM.

A native of Youngsville and a resident of Lafayette Mr. Trahan died at 6:10AM on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Camelot of Broussard. He proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army, then he worked doing body work at Evangeline Motor for 22 years and Schoffler Cadillac for 11 years. He was known for his enjoyment of hunting, fishing, gardening, and working with his citrus trees.

He is survived by three sons, Jimmy Trahan and Brenda Richard of Lafayette, Roland Trahan and Marie of Butte Larose, and Rodney Trahan and Susan of Baton Rouge; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen T. Trahan; his parents, Joseph and Lelia Boudreaux Trahan; a son, John Ray Trahan; two brothers, Douglas Trahan and Alectan Trahan; and two sisters, Edith Boudoin and Lula Mae Simon.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lance Trahan, Hunter Trahan, Brock Trahan, Neil LeBlanc, Charles Picard, and Logan Picard.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the nurses, CNAs, ward clerks, and kitchen staff at Camelot of Broussard, they went beyond their calling. Also, the staff of Hospice of Acadiana, Louise, Judith, Jenee, and other staff. We thank ya’ll so much for the love and care that was given.
