A native and lifelong resident of Loreauville, Miss Aimee” or Aunt May-May as she was affectionately known passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016, at 5:10 PM at a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Peltier was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America sharing her time with her Catholic community. She was also part owner of Aimee’s Catering for 15 years supporting her husband in the success of the family business. “Miss Aimee” enjoyed the very company of her very close friend’s playing cards and a luncheon once a week and going to the casino. She also loved to travel, never meeting a stranger, looking forward to seeing family who lived away. Following her mother’s tradition, Sundays was a special day with a Sunday lunch for the entire family. If you could not make lunch there was always enough leftovers for supper or drop ins. To see her meals bring enjoyment to her family and spend time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren was a very important part of her life. Being of compassion she cared for many of her family members of her family, espically her invalid father and legally blind brother. Her strength and feisty personality will be missed by many.
She is survived by her children, Donna F. Davis, Gloria Champagne and her husband Lawrence and Kathi deLaunay, 7 grandchildren, Natalie Knight, Aimee Record, LeMell Fontenot, Lane Champagne, Leah Segura, Lorlee Dupre and Lail de Launay; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grand-children and her sister Margaret Bonin and her husband Andrew.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Kernis Peltier; her infant son, Errol; her father, Stanley Crochet; her mother, Elsie Hebert Crochet; her brothers, Emile Crochet, Francis Crochet and Jacque Braquet; her sister, Yvonne LeBlanc and her son-in-law, Donald Davis.
Upholding the honor of pallbearers will be family and friends.
We are grateful to all those individuals, sitters and local nursing home, who provided care for “Miss Aimee” with understanding, compassion and kindness throughout the years. Also, thank you Hospice of Acadiana, for the support and comfort provided during her transaction.
In lieu of flowers or any donations we ask that it be made to the Catholic Daughters of Loreauville, P. O. Box 365 Loreauville, LA 70552, so that they may continue their good works within the Loreauville community in her name or Hospice of Acadiana.
