Dennie J. Hebert

Jeanerette – Funeral services will be conducted for Dennie J. Hebert, 71 on Friday, July 7, 2017, at 1:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel in Jeanerette with Deacon Theo Landry officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors by the Iberia Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 7, 2017, from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM, a rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 11:00 AM followed by a Eulogy read by Allen Landry.

Dennie was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved horse racing. He was one of a kind and if you met him once you would never forget him. He was a character always cracking jokes and making people laugh. He loved everyone and everyone loved him, he will be greatly missed.

He was a Veteran of the Viet Nam Era having served in the U.S. Army.

He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his two daughters. The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice for the love and compassion they showed in his time of need. The family would also like to thank everyone that was there for them in their time of need, they thank you from the bottom of their hearts.

He is survived by his daughters, Michelle H. Boutte and her husband Patrick and Dawn M. Hebert and her companion Shane Reaux all of New Iberia; his step-son, John Odom of Meridian, MS; his sister, Myra L. Colson and her husband Joseph of New Iberia; his brother, Edwin J. Hebert, Jr. of Jeanerette; his grandchildren, Spencer Comeaux, Jake Comeaux, Laura Rebollo, Tyler Boutte, Hayden Odom and Chasity Payne; the mother of his children, Sonja Simoneaux of Lydia and his former wife, Betty Odom Hebert of Meridian, MS.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin J. Hebert, Jr.; his mother, Violet Landry Hebert; his brother, Errol G. Hebert; sister-in-law’s Linda Hebert and Connie Clark; nieces, Hayley Louviere and Monique H. Broussard; great nephew, Dylan Louviere; son-in-law, Kenneth Comeaux.

Serving as pallbearers will be Spencer Comeaux, Jake Comeaux, E. Gerald “T-Boy” Hebert, Todd Toups, Kevin Arceneaux and Scott Sevin.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Alex Romero, Sr., Edwin Broussard, James Colson, Patrick Boutte, Shane Reaux, Jerome Fitch, Ronald Landry, John Odom, Carl Smith, Edwin Hebert, Jr. and Tracey Romero.
