Raywood John "Mr. Ray" Trahan

LAFAYETTE-A Mass of Christian Burial for Raywood John “Mr. Ray” Trahan, 82, will be 11:00AM Saturday August 19, 2017 in St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville with Father William Schambough officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Milton. Visitation will be in David Funeral Home of Lafayette Friday August 18, 2017 from 2:00PM until 9:00PM with recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM . Visitation will resume Saturday from 8:00AM until service time.

Mr. Ray passed away Wednesday August 16, 2017 at Maison des Lafayette surrounded by his family. In addition to being a lifelong farmer, he was a barber for over 50 years, and drove a school bus for 25 years in Lafayette Parish.

He is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Ruby C. Hebert of Youngsville, his sons; Todd Trahan and companion Sue Thibodeaux of Youngsville, and John Ray Trahan and wife Tanya of Duson; his daughter Monica Abshire and husband Dean of Youngsville; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Edvard and Edith Touchet Trahan, a son, Glenn Trahan, a brother, Chester Trahan, and 2 sisters, Ethel Bodin and Patsy Boudreaux.

Serving as his Pallbearers will be Jake Trahan, Ty Trahan, Brady Trahan, Briggs Trahan, Corey Vice, and Andre Broussard.  Serving as his Honorary Pallbearers will be Miranda Vice, Megan Abshire, Maci Savoy, Casey Carney, Elizabeth Trahan, Alysse Trahan, and Benjamin Trahan.
