James "Larry" Ivie

Lafayette- A gathering of family and friends for Mr. James “Larry “ Ivie, 68, will be held on Saturday October 28, 2017 at David Funeral Home of Lafayette, from 11:00AM until 2:00PM.

A native of Wellington, KS and a resident of Broussard Mr. Ivie died on Tuesday October 24, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. He was a proud alumni of New Mexico Tech. He enjoyed watching movies, doing puzzles for his great-grandchildren, and he was an avid reader.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Elizabeth “Sue” Ivie, of Broussard; a daughter, Barbie Briggs of Lafayette; granddaughter, Britney Briggs, and her fiancé Clay Belaire; two great-grandchildren, Abigail Belaire and Hudson James Belaire; a sister, Susan Rickman; and a niece, Summer Louthan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dwayne Ivie and Mavis Irvin Myers; and a brother Mark Ivie.
