Billie Marie Cade Seneca

September 27, 1939 — January 14, 2018

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church of Broussard, La for-Billie Cade Seneca, 78, who passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

“Granny” as she liked to be called by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, “The Broussard Gazette” “The parking lot Nazi” as she was called by her children, “Mrs. Billie” as she was called by others, was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother who had the most beautiful unique soul that touched everyone’s lives.

Billie Cade Seneca was born on September 27, 1939 in New Iberia, La and had been a lifelong resident of Broussard, La. She was the daughter of the late William Cade Jr. and the former Marie Louise Fremin. Billie was a remarkable hardworking woman with a genuine one of a kind heart who walked through this world with gentleness and grace.

Billie enjoyed dancing and music, watching dancing with the stars, and making her famous cabbage rolls for her loved ones. What brought the most joy into our mother/granny life was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She cherished each moment spent with them and each one had a special place in her “pacemaker” heart. We were blessed to be loved by such a stunning spirit but we are even more blessed knowing she is now all of our guardian angel. Our mother/granny will always have a special place in our hearts.

Survivors include two sons, Cal Seneca and his wife Mandy of New Iberia, Jed Seneca and his wife Claire of California, two daughters, Darla Seneca of Lafayette, Tressa Rose and her husband Tim of New Iberia; one brother Neil Cade of Lafayette, two sisters, Sandra Guidry of Lafayette, and Marsha Hebert of Thibodaux; twelve grandchildren and four step grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse “J.P.” Seneca; one son, Jamie Paul Seneca; one great granddaughter, Blayke Mackenzie Seneca and her parents.

The family request that the visitation hours be observed on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 3 p.m.- 9 p.m. and continue Friday, January 19, 2018 from 9 a.m. till service. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be six of her grandsons, Jamie Seneca, Corey Seneca, Chaise Seneca, Brandon Duhon, Brittan Duhon, and Brodie Richard. Honorary Pallbearers are her two sons, Cal and Jed Seneca.

The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation for the excellent and professional care she received from all of her healthcare professionals and staff members including the wonderful staff of Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home. The family would also like to express their heartfelt thanks to her friends of Eola Manor Apartments of Broussard, La for taking such good care of her and their continuous love and prayers.

Granny,

Our hearts are extremely broken and you will be truly missed, but your witty, loving, silly, dependable, courageous, sassy, compassionate spirit will always be with each and every one of us. Life will never be the same without you here with us but we are so blessed that we had you here for as long as we did. Spread your wings and fly, you can now dance with Pawpaw and hold your son Jamie again. Until we all meet again, please protect and watch over us. We love you.

- From all of your family

“For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”

Psalm 91:11
