Howard P. Romero

Youngsville – A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Howard P. Romero, 83, will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Harrington officiating.   Interment will follow at St. Anne Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 9:00AM until the time of the services with a recitation of the rosary at 11:00AM.

A native of Broussard and a resident of Youngsville, Mr. Romero died at 3:00PM on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at his residence. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Howard worked for A&P Grocery Store before he began Romero’s Grocery Store. He retired from Lafayette Parish Sheriff Department as a bailiff after over 15 years of service. He was also known for his enjoyment of fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janelle Mallet Romero of Youngsville; a son, Mike Romero and his wife Becky of Youngsville; three brothers, L.J. Romero and his wife Brenda; Fred Romero and his wife Juanita, and Gene Romero and his wife Lyndal; two sisters, Anna Belle Romero and Hazel Romero Bonin and her husband Luke; and two grandchildren, Vince Romero and Peyton Romero.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Victoria Rabeaux Romero.

Serving as pallbearers will be Vince Romero, Ashton Rabalais, Jordan Jones, Brent Romero, Cody Broussard, and Merrick Romero.

The family wants to extend a special thanks to Dr. Kathryn Strother, and the staffs at Stat and the Heart of Hospice.
