Frances S. Duke

Jeanerette – A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Frances S. Duke, age 70, will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at David’s Funeral Home Chapel of Jeanerette.

The family would like to invite friends and family for a visitation on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with the service at 7:00 PM.

Mrs. “Fran” as she was affectionately know was a faithful believer in Christ Jesus, and on Saturday, August 18, 2018 she went home to be with the Lord at Ochsner Hospital of New Orleans at 9:08 AM. Earlier in life her career began in a pharmacy, but, the majority of her career was devoted to being a hair dresser. More recently, she was an 18 wheeler driver, where her and her husband traveled the U.S. and some of Canada. Her most recent child was her boxer named Precious. Some of her hobbies included cooking, riding motorcycles and entertaining her family and friends outdoors. She will be deeply missed by all.

She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Mr. Wesley A. Duke Jr. of Charenton, La., her children Mitchell Freeman, Jeffrey Freeman(Stephanie), and Darlene Freeman; her step children Samantha Sizemore(Tim), Shawn Duke(Amber), Wesley Duke III (Crystal), Brandon Duke(Stephanie), Taisha Duke, Pamela Eden; step daughter in law Michelle Conyers; grandchildren Douglas Freeman, Robert Anderson, James Anderson, Hannah Freeman, Jesse Freeman, Ainsleigh Freeman, Ana Clare Freeman and Abigail Freeman, Step-grandchildren Matthew Reed, Kyle Reed, Collin Reed, Tristan Mathias, Anthony Fox, Shonna Timmons, Kylie Duke, Alexis Duke, Raylin Duke, Landyn Duke, Trenton Merrifield, Ayden Merrifield, Leyton Garcia; Great grandchildren Gracelynn Freeman, Isabella Freeman, Alyssa Grace Reed, Bryant Reed, Matthew Reed and Dallas Reed; sisters Evelyn Louque and Yvonne Martello.

She is preceded in death by her parents John Schissel and Nora Gomez Schissel; sister Vivian Cook; stepson Russell Conyers; grandchild Alyssa Freeman and  great grandson Waylon Anderson.
